Safety Features

To ensure safe and accident-free operation, the Herelink Black Pro remote controller includes the following safety features:

  1. High Visibility Display.

    • The display is configured with maximum brightness (lumens) for clear visibility in all lighting conditions.
  2. Battery Level Indicators.

    • The display shows the remote controller's battery level and provides warnings when the battery is low.
  3. Spring-Loaded Control Sticks.

    • Both the left (L) and right (R) sticks are spring-loaded and automatically return to the center position, preventing accidental inputs when the pilot's fingers are off the controller.
  4. Failsafe for C2 Link Loss.

    • In the event of radio interference or signal loss in the 2.4 GHz band, the drone automatically engages Return to Launch (RTL) mode to ensure a safe recovery.

In the event of a control link loss, the Radio Failsafe mechanism is triggered, and the drone automatically engages Return to Launch (RTL) mode. Visual warnings appear on both the remote controller and the ground control station displays.

The following are the primary causes of a C2 link loss:

  1. Persistent External 2.4 GHz Radio Interference.

Caused by nearby 2.4 GHz radio beacon antennas or other sources of interference.

  2. Drone Out of Range.

The drone may exceed the operational range of the C2 link, especially in obstructed environments.

⚠️

Obstacles such as buildings or terrain can reduce the effective range.

  1. Improperly Tightened Antennas.

Loose or improperly secured antennas on the remote controller or drone can lead to signal loss.

  2. Remote Controller Battery Depletion.

The remote controller shuts down when its battery is depleted.

⚠️

This model does not send a feedback signal to the flight controller when shutting down.

If a C2 link loss occurs alongside GPS signal degradation, the Navigation Failsafe is triggered. In this scenario, the drone will automatically land by descending vertically at its current position.

Common Causes of GPS Degradation:

  • Flying in areas with limited sky visibility (e.g., deep valleys or urban canyons).
  • Inconsistent power supply to the GPS module due to internal electrical issues.

C2 Reacquisition.

If the C2 link is reestablished after a loss, the drone will continue in RTL mode unless the pilot manually selects a new flight mode using the A, C, or D buttons.

If the remote controller is turned off and then restarted, the C2 link is typically reacquired in less than 5 seconds.
